Hi all. The idea is to re-assure all smaller ports (criteria is less than 5 pilots) that we an an extremely important part of the UKMPA. As with most forums we can exchange views and pass on relevant information pertaining to ships which are common to our ports. Please feel free to add anything of interest to us all.
Hi Julian. Hope you are well ? How was conference in Bristol.? I have Just registered here. I contacted Jamie Voisey from Port Heath and he was extremely helpful regards training money etc. and their experiences. We had a good chat as their job is similar to Teignmouth. Just asked our CHA for an amount of training money and will see response after HM meets with Commissioners. Kevin Clifton Authorised here today. The last pilot authorised here was Me in 2005 after I emigrated south from 13 years on the Humber. Kevin would like to join UKMPA and also get insurance with Circle so he can get started with correct cover. His email is kevclifton@hotmail.co.uk if a pack or something from both Circle and UKMPA could be sent please. He goes and does his last trip with RFA from Thursday and starts with us properly in September but he would like to get applications started now. Cheers Mark.
Good news that you will get some training assistance and that the small ports connections has made a positive start. I will pass Kevin's email to Hywell who is the membership man (and a London Pilot) so he will be in touch. Good luck with everything and pass on my congrats to Kevin.
